"Love Yourself"

We hear it all the time:

"The best advice I can give you is to love yourself".
"You can't love anyone until you learn to love yourself".
"Learn to love yourself first".

At first glance, harmless and helpful, right? Empowering, eh?

In truth, the above is the exact oppositve of what one should be trying to do as mankind enters the Aquarian Age. Learning to love ourselves puts the focus on ourselves. It turns our attention inwards, towards what we think is good for us, what we desire, what we want to do. This self-focus shuts out others and serves to color life as a "me-against-them" proposition. The following advice is for those who aspire to become a part of the New Race:

Love all others, so as to be loved. Forgive all others, so as to be forgiven.

Love yourself.
This is something that I have deduced from my quest for answers. On an intrinsic level, it is only really possible to love one's self. Now here comes the twist, how do you define self. Me, myself, I and mine is the material world order definition of self and it certainly comes acorss as 'selfish' when you tend to put your needs (self) ahead of others.
Now when one gains a deeper understanding that there is ultimately no 'other' then it becomes quite apparent that what you do for 'another' is in fact what you do for yourself. Now we can glean the true esoteric meaning of "love thy neighbour" and "love yourself" and the reason why the path to liberation actually begins in the "selfless" service to "others". Imagine the imapct on the world if only even a small fraction would advocate this paradigm shifting thought in their lives.

You've hit the nail on the head, my friend. The following will be re-posted as a companion to your comment.
