That Which Is Caesar's

In every Age, there are those who awaken in the Gnosis and choose to walk the Path of Liberation, the Path of Return. In every Age, those travelers are confronted with obstacles. In the time of the Christ it was the ruling powers of church-and-state that united in an attempt to discourage those who had heard The Call. In subsequent centuries, this continued to hold true, as the orthodox church used its connections with the kingdoms of the day to wield the sword in their favor. Crusades and inquisitions were born.

These days, with the decline of the orthodox churches, different sorts of obstacles present themselves to the seeker steadfastly striving to maintain his or her footing on The Path. One is the loosening of social constraint and the moral decay that has followed. Another is the lack of true leadership in the world and in many homes, which are microcosms of the world. There is also the never-ending treadmill of life that forces man to work a third of his day or more in order to feed himself, his family and to provide a roof over their heads. And that's if one is fortunate enough to have a job. This crushing daily grind can get in the way of one's Walk, if so allowed.

We should be ever vigilant of the myriad ways that the aeons of this nature will attempt to knock us of our square and lead us away from The Path. Stay focused, stay true and live every moment in the Knowledge that although we are in this world, our aim and destiny is not of this world.

We render unto Caesar that which is Caesar's and render unto God that which is God's.
