Disconnected From Spirit
How many times have you heard someone say, "I felt it in my spirit", or "My spirit this and my spirit that".
Let's make this clear: nature-born humans have no connection with Spirit. Spirit is of God. If we were connected with Spirit, we would be executing the Will of The All. You can look around and see that the only will that humanity cares to exercise is self-will.
The majority of our human life-wave lost connection to Spirit long ages ago. A small percentage of present humanity is now working to regain that link. An even smaller percentage have so far succeeded.
Since the Fall, we have been linked to what the ancients referred to as a "counterfeit spirit". This "counterfeit spirit" is the ruler of our mortal soul, which in turn, conditions the material body. Because the nature-born human-being follows his or her own dictates and not the will of the Father, disorganization and chaos reign in the mortal soul, and the physical body is subsequently sickened by disease.
Spirit, Soul and Body have to be restored as a Whole Tri-Unity (or "Holy Trinity"). To do this, man must embark upon the Path of the True Way, the Path of Return. It may not be the best of news to be informed that you currently have no connection with Spirit, but the good news is that you can re-establish this link, if you turn your focus towards returning to the Divine Kingdom.
"All those who have faith in the power of the Gnosis, are given the Power to become Children of God again".

Wow, this is new to me. Romans 8:11 says something completely different, along with many other verses. So maybe you can explain how I've been understanding this and the others incorrectly.
Hello, I thought about incarnations and how before each baby is born, its Soul, (perhaps with help of Solar Angels?) establishes a most beneficial plan for both individual and the whole that could be fulfiled in a lifetime.
Does the Path of Return mean reconnecting and aligning oneself with that plan, with the Soul? Executing the will of Higher Self?

Let's just say that you have not been reading with the proper key in hand.
The New Testament can be read under several keys: literal interpretation, astronomical key, astrological key, numerological key, symbolical key, etc. And then there is the gnostic key.
Those who have the gnostic key are able to penetrate beneath the literal interpretation of the Holy Language that man has inherited and grasp the timeless Truth penetrating every word of the Gospels, Epistles and Apocalypses.
Having the gnostic key in one's possession is sort of like holding a template against a page. Depending on the design of the template, some words will be blocked out, while others will appear in plain sight, uniting with other words to create or reveal something. Without the template, the words on the page have no meaning. With the template, the meaning becomes clear.
Here is the Key:
The entire New Testament is a treatise on the Path of Return, rendered in symbolic language. What it is, how to travel it, what the challenges are, where help can expected, what the candidate must do, what lies at the Good End, etc. This is the design and purpose of the New Testament. The true nature of the NT had to be veiled in order to protect it from destruction by its enemies (i.e., the Roman Church), for these Writings are a threat to the aeons of this nature. These Writings are intended to teach man - those who have the gnostic key in their possession - how to escape this temporal world and regain Immortality and Liberation from Rebirth in the Divine Kingdom.
If one reads the NT in this way, one will be reading the Holy Language with the proper template in hand. Understanding should then follow.

The Path of Return does not involve a re-connection with the terrestrial higher self. The Path of Return concerns a return to the status of Original Man, of the True Heavenly Man, which we as microcosms were once able to manifest as, prior to our fall from the Divine Kingdom into this Earthly Hell.
Our soul is a mortal soul. Our so-called "higher self" is but the lipika or auric being, which is a storehouse of all of the accumulated attributes, powers and karma of all previous personalities in our microcosm. Our auric being has the ability to appear to us as a majestic initiate, ascended master, holy figure, etc., but it remains simply part of the Delusion.
It is our task to build a purified new Soul, one that will be able to provide a suitable abode for the Divine Spirit.
The Path of Return is not about re-connecting us, as personalities John Smith or Jane Doe, to something higher. It is about sacrificing ourselves as personalities in order to allow The Other One that sleeps within our Divine Spark to make its re-appearance on the Universal stage. For this, our help as physical human-beings is required. A process that leads back to Eternal life in the Divine Kingdom begins with our walking the Path of Return here on earth.
