Liberation 101

For those who have chosen to walk the Path, these books can serve as a critical source of insight and a foundation to build upon.

Elementary Philosophy of the Modern Rosycross

From the back cover:

"In this book the authors explain that: 'not everything that calls itself  "Rosycross" is the true Rosycross in the universal, gnostic sense of the word'. What then should we understand as the universal meaning of the Rosycross?

All who are seeking an answer in an unprejudiced way should read this book. It indicates clearly what one needs to know if one truly wishes to find Liberation.

It sketches the meaning of magic and initiation, involution and evolution, birth and death, and it emphasizes the importance of processes of regeneration and redemption of the world.

In conclusion, the Golden Rosycross and its task in today's world are placed before us as a mighty, radiant beacon".

 The Coming New Man

"What do you know about freedom? What do you know about liberation? What is freedom for you? If, upon hearing the words freedom and liberation, your thoughts rise beyond the concepts commonly held in our society, The Coming New Man may be the book for you.

The Coming New Man takes you along on a search for the other one within you. It takes you along on a developmental journey to your true destination.

In The Coming New Man, Jan van Rijckenborgh describes the human being as a system of bodies enclosed by a microcosm. The Divine nucleus is located at the centre of this microcosm, the centre of the Original human-being we once were. The central issue is: who were we, who are we, and where are we going?

The Coming New Man is based on the Universal Teachings, the common thread that has run through all world religions and mystical schools from the outset of the human race. They are the teachings of the Gnosis, the teachings of inner knowledge and recognition. Every age and every period in human development formulates its own ways to liberation, its own Path to Life.

This book, addressed to the human being of the 20th and 21st centuries, will help you to experience this in detail if you are open to it. It describes the human struggle for Light. It contains the key to correct self-analysis, which is a process of self-purification, and the next step in the form of an openness to a spiritual future. The ultimate goal is transfiguration, which is the development of a new Human Being who lives from forces we can scarcely comprehend.

This book describes the new human being in detail, enabling the modern seeker to recognize him and wend his way to following in his footsteps."

Hi Brother Gee,
In the book "Elementary Philosophy of the Modern Rosycross" there was a chapter on hair and another on circumcision. I didn't resonate or understand with what was said or what meant in these chapters. I wondered why they were mentioned at all. Maybe you can guide me with this.
Thanks in advance.

Anonymous,

The gnostic knows that the lay-person interprets the New Testament literally, while those who have obtained insight recognize that the New Testament is a treatise on the Path of Return and the process of Transfiguration, presented in symbol and allegory.

Man has four bodies: physical body, etheric (or vital) body, desire (or astral) body and the mental body. As Elementary Philosophy reveals, man's mental body is negative, his desire body is positive, his etheric body is negative and the physical body is positive. For women, the polarity is in reverse.

In 1 Corinthians, Chapter 11, Paul speaks at length regarding the hair of men and women and the 'covering' and 'uncovering' of same. To those who interpret the Bible literally, these teachings make little to no sense, and so we end up with foolishness like women having to cover their heads while in church.

In Elementary Philosophy, the symbolism and allegory embedded in 1 Corinthians 11 is explained.

As mentioned, man's mental body is negatively polarized. It is a receptive body and receives the impulses of the positive pole of Spirit. For this reason, man's head should always be "uncovered". In other words, his mental faculty must always be open to receiving the impulses of the Spirit. Once received, these impulses are transferred to the desire body, of which the heart is the center. Physiologically-speaking, the hair on his head is part of this receiving process.

The woman's mental body is positively polarized. It radiates that which is in the heart out into the physical world. When the woman's negatively-polarized desire body comes in contact with the positively-polarized desire body of a man who has been touched by the Gnosis, the pure gnostic Light is reflected in the woman's mental body, which then radiates this Light to the world. The woman is warned to keep her head "covered", so as to not fall into the trap of radiating that which is not of the Gnosis (i.e., false teachings, etc.). As with the man, the physical hair has a role to play in the radiation of woman's personal aura.

The main thrust of the chapter on Cosmic Duality is to refute the false idea that a woman is subservient to a man, and the idea that the Bible supports this erroneous teaching. It attempts to reveal that man and woman are inversely polarized for a reason, and that reason is to cooperate in the twin processes of transmutation and transfiguration. Man needs woman and woman needs man. This Cosmic Duality is part of the Divine Plan.

The other point of the chapter is to tear down the literal interpretation of 1 Corinthians 11 and demonstrate to the Seeker that there is much more going on in the Bible than a surface understanding can reveal. This exposes the tragedy that takes place in churches the world over, where the poor sheep sit and listen to those of the priestly class whose duty it is to guide their congregations and instead, through their own crystallized ignorance, lead those in their charge further and further away from the Truth.

"Circumcision" next.

Anonymous,

In the Bible, the word "circumcision" occurs nearly 100 times. As with everything in the Bible, it carries both a literal meaning and a symbolic meaning.

Taken literally, it refers to the tradition of the Hebrews. The word is referenced many times in the Old Testament. Hebrews are referred to as "the circumcision".

Speaking symbolically, it means that one has "cut away the flesh", i.e., that he or she has forsaken and renounced the material world and is walking the Path of Return.

One example of this symbolic meaning can be found in Phillipians 3:2-3...

"Beware of the dogs, beware of the evil workers, beware of the false circumcision. For we are the circumcision, who worship God in the Spirit, and rejoice in Christ Jesus, and have no confidence in the flesh;"

In order to determine which meaning is being used, one has to read the entire passage in context. If the "law of Moses", "Pharisees", etc. are mentioned, then the literal meaning can usually be applied. If the reference to circumcision includes words like "Spirit", the heart", etc., then we are talking about circumcision under its gnostic symbolic meaning.

Even the Old Testament uses the esoteric meaning at times, as in Deuteronomy 10:6...

"Let your circumcision be of the heart, and put away your pride." Deuteronomy 10:16

Again, the meaning (literal or symbolic) can usually be determined by understanding the context of the passage in which it appears. This further exemplifies how those who were charged with composing the Bible cleverly masked an important esoteric message within the exoteric presentation, despite every effort of the early church to mutilate and destroy all references to that Great Message.

Thanks. It is good to be aware of the wisdom of God's hidden counsel. Amazing stuff really.

Another thing I would like to ask is how does someone jump from to typical conversation, i.e. A person looking into the various problems in the world, to the work of the school and the image of the eternal man, transfiguration? Sometimes I want to say something to others in conversation but never do.
Thanks

Brian,

Unlike nature-born spiritual and philosophical organizations, the School of the Golden Rosycross (LRC) does not proselytize, recruit, or try to convince those who are not ready to hear about the Gnosis. One has to be receptive to learning about the Gnosis, either through Remembrance, or via some karmic or hereditary precursor. In short, they have to WANT to know.

We should not allow ourselves to become frustrated at our inability to reach out and shake our brothers and sisters awake. We are constrained by the Law of Free Will to avoid a forcing. To do so would be a violation of others’ free-will desire to remain asleep.

The best that we can do is LIVE the Gnosis ourselves. Fully, Honestly, Truthfully. By doing so, we link ourselves to the Universal Brotherhood via the agency of the Thirteenth Aeon. Our microcosm is able to bathe in the Light Bath of the Consolamentum, thus allowing us to:

a. assimilate Gnostic Light-Power for use in healing and transmuting the microcosm
b. enabling us to radiate that same Light-Power to our fellow human-beings who are still asleep.

What you will find is that as you yourself continue to gain insight, effect a fundamental reversal within yourself and actively “live the Life”, what silently radiates from you will reach out to touch others. In this way, that which is Divine is able to reach others, Eternity breaks into Time, even though they will not be consciously aware of it. Some may say of you, “what a nice person. I get such a good vibe from him. How is he able to behave in such a way, considering the madness that is our world? What is his secret?”. Through this indirect contact, other microcosms can experience a small measure of Purification.

This work is very important. It may not seem heroic or earth-moving, but it is. Be mindful of the fact that it is the “I” that wants to be a hero. The candidate on the Path seeks only to unselfishly assist the Logos in carrying out the Divine Plan here on earth. We must choose to remain in the shade, so that others can stand in the sunlight.

If we try to force this information upon others, no matter how well-intentioned our motives, resistance is almost guaranteed. The “I” of the other person will recoil against the power of the message. Animosity or argument may ensue. Remember, the “I” does not want to hear anything about “transfiguring” or “liberation” because it knows that will mean the end of the “I”. The “I" is fine with any sort of “spiritual” doctrine, as long as it focuses on "spiritual" development in the twin-spheres (material sphere, reflection sphere) of the Cosmic Physical Realm. As soon as the I-being hears of a doctrine that will require its erasure in order for the candidate to move forward, the “I” will immediately go on defense, or rebel, or try to fake interest, or try to twist the doctrine to suit its dialectical needs.

At some future point, someone may approach you – of their own free will - for information about the School, the doctrine of Transfiguration, the Path of Return, etc. If someone asks, then offer what you have learned without embellishment or distortion. If no interest is shown, be content to radiate silently. You will be helping your brothers more than you know.

For now, learn as much as you can about the Path you have voluntarily chosen and most importantly, LIVE IT. When it is time for you to speak, Seekers will find you. It cannot be otherwise.

Best
